A deed dated 22 March 1738 and recorded same.  Vol. 27 p 416 of Bristol deeds

Phebe Arnold, widow
John Hull and Damaris, his wife
James Carr and Abigail his wife
Ebenezer Slocum and Mary his wife all of Jamestown, Newport RI
The deed states that Phebe, Damaris, Abigail and Mary are sisters and heirs of
John Cary, late of Jamestown.
John Cary was the grandson of Deacon John Cary, late of Bristol Co. MA,
deceased.  Deacon Cary in his last will gave the south end of his dwelling house
in Bristol and the land adjoining to be divided among his four sons:  Eleazer,
James, Benjamin and Josiah and daughter, Abigail and grandson John Cary, above.
Benjamin Cary, son of Deacon Cary, had by deed dated 5 June 1730, sold the part
of the dwelling to Israel Church of Bristol for 100 pounds, so each of the
daughters were to share in the 20 pounds.  In consideration for the money, the
heirs conveyed to the heirs of Israel Church, also deceased, a deed for the
property.

The witnesses to the signatures of John Hull and Damaris, his wife, were Caleb
Arnold and Thomas Fowler.  The date of this deed, with Phebe Arnold as a widow,
excludes the possibility of her being the wife of THE Benedict Arnold.  Because
the sons of THE Benedict Arnold were landholders in Canada, and some of my
ancestors were caretakers of those thousands of acres.
